Brazil, a giant still sleeping,
within South America,
with its undeniable beauty,
protected by the blue mantle.
Beyond the sun, the eternal Eagle!
The great King, the eternal King, has protected this nation; from all greed, from all destruction;
which has the greatest wealth: the white, colorless diamond,
that sustains life on the planet,
with its spring of water and an immense and beautiful forest, which enchants and inspires the poetic verve
of a good minstrel, of the eternal writer.
Land of gold, oil, diamond and emerald.
Land of the poet, artist and football.
Land of Carlos Drumond de Andrade, José de Alencar, Machado de Assis, Clarice Lispector and many others that cannot be enumerated.
Land of Mané Garrincha, land of King Pelé,
land of hundreds of other athletes,
who came into the world to brighten us up.
